"You also worked" in the end shows you have not enough practical knowledge to work something for Dear Ms West(not Mr.West). You had not a working knowledge of our firms and hence cannot be employed.

為何你要翻譯一段明顯寫給"英文人"看的求職信，想測試自己的英文寫成怎樣？

首先你要明白"翻譯成中文"便沒有了"測試"英文動詞時態的功能，因此首先告訴你你的第一句
I was excited to see的過去時態已經錯了，若我是Mr. West的助手已把你的信掉進"癈紙回收箱"。因為你只是表達你"過去"興致勃勃"看到請記者廣告興奮完了。

第二句
and I hope to be invited是被動式句法，就算翻譯出來你也是希望"被邀請見工"，英語人是不會請求"被邀請見工"的，請職信的寫法是要"我很希望約見你"或"我很希望來你處見你面談工作的內容"...。若是Mr. West看到這裏必定不會邀請你。

第三句
I think I could make ...
是按文法書禮貎編輯法用了could來表示謙虛，但could對英語人聽來的另一個意思是"不肯定"或"讓給對方決定"，用法要看在說甚麼，你是在說你對這報章/報館的貢獻或者照你的寫法翻譯的話是「為團隊加多一個(很重要的)人」，若然看到這裏你是讓Mr. West決定你也不太肯定的能力，怎樣叫人夠膽請你。

第二段
唯一沒寫錯，還要讚賞的是寫出résumé的正寫。


sorry給你有點難受的說明，希望你寫求職信可以"直接點"，即然你內容說你很懂寫文章，應該把多些位置在信裏"寫出你的寫法技藝"而不只是說"see from my résumé"：

例如：

I want to apply for the position of a news reporter.

I have had written for my high school newspaper with a follow through reporting on the school principal for his 5-year plan to upscale the school rating to top 10 in the country.

During my years in college, I have managed the college website for over 20 faculties and supervised over 30 students for content writing and editing.


...再寫多三數個特別的報導簡述，這些才是請你見工的話題。 
 
As you can see, I am familiar with conventional news reporting as well as the IT generation web writing.  I even have the experience to manage co-workers in and to coordinate press conference ...
