To see who we are and to have a relationship with us, ultimately He's teaching us lessons

It is said that Jesus preached the gospel in Hades. It is also written that the good news was that the captives would be freed.
From that I reached the conclusion that at some point all of us now living were arrested by Satan and thrown into Hades. To win our chance for release Satan had to be proven to be guilty of false imprisonment. To do that required several years of investigation and the investigation was completed by Jesus the Christ.
So until the resurrection of Jesus the purpose was to find out if God was worthy of the office and to prove Satan was guilty of crimes worthy of being locked up.
After that point I surmise that the purpose of life is to provide a place to prove our guilt or innocence.
All of us were in hell once, the issue is who goes back.

We were in Heaven. Then Satan rebelled against God and 1/3 of God's children followed him. God put us here to separate the good from the bad.
The good love and follow God and will live for an eternity. The bad will be sent to the Lake of Fire to die the second death.

41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:"
46 "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."

This comment explains why the vast majority of humans who die will be resurrected back to life on the earth, and not to heaven.
This is also why only a little flock has been invited and selected to rule with Christ in his kingdom.

We " ARE " the angels who lived in Heaven with God
Ref Pr 8:22-30 and Job 38:1-4 & 21.
God send the angels who'd sinned to Earth so that they could repent. Jesus Christ came to seek them 2000 years ago.
Ref Lk 19:10 and Matt 8:13.
So that he could show them how to repent
Ref Matt 26:26-28
Because a repentant soul goes back to heaven and it's angelic status is restored.

We originally were Bored Cherubs ; and 1 decided to learn to love all unconditionally , where he imagined his own Growing-up Place ; and so everyone wanted in , but he told them they'd have to wear a God-Body as he has to , which is geared to have to become perfect , or else they'd subconsciously punish themselves severely enough so they would get back on the path .

God has billions of Sons and these universes are their playground/Laboratory. With the Father's permission, they were attempting to build their own Heaven. They caused this messed up world from the start by not following instructions. Humans are the product of God's Sons. This world is in constant state of chaos and catastrophe; Sometime the Lord doesn't intervene. God doesn't intend this world to be our home, but He does require our maximum effort while we are here. We are part of a bigger picture.
