Why do people claim to be a Christian but thier actions show otherwise?

It's very easy to CLAIM to be a Christian, but one could just as easily CLAIM to be a US senator without being one.

I asked a very similar question yesterday. My answer is that they are not real believers. They read the sinners prayer but never repented of their sins but instead just continued in them.

Well, I try my best. I'm Church of England and I believe in God and the spiritual life. I'm still learning like we all are in this life. Everyone has to go at their own pace.

It means they are sinners, as all Christians are sinners (1 John 1:8). Since you set yourself up as the judge, then you are going to hell, because you still sin. Have fun in the lake of fire.

But as for me, I believe in Jesus, so I'm saved and going to heaven.

God uses the good ones, the bad ones use God.

When we get saved we are free from sin. We are NOT free to sin and that is the problem most people have. For those that say only God can judge me that should scare you.

There is a verse in the Bible "Empty vessels make most sound".
It means literally that when you tap the side of an empty pot it makes a lot more noise than if you tap a full one.
In other words, those people with the least content are the ones who shout the loudest.

IHMO, it is because they have lost their fear of God. They like some of the perks of Christianity like fellowship with others, tasty potluck dinners, etc., but threats like Jesus made in Mt 25:46 fall on deaf ears.

People become Christians individually and no two are guilty of the same sins but we all do sin. Like Paul, The harder we try not to sin the more we yield to it. We just have to keep repenting and commiting to Jesus Christ's care.

No Christians are perfect, because no humans are perfect. All humans sin. But Christians repent of their sins, seek forgiveness, and over time turn away from those sins as they draw closer to God.

Its the ones who don't realize it or wont admit it that are the worst. There are many with personality disorders or mildly retarded in Churches as they are accepted for whom they are.Then they give bad impressions of Christians to others ( not blaming them, they cant help it.)

People sometimes are not as devout Christians as others. As science progresses, people often change how much they practice their religion in order to meet their preferences and beliefs.

Because as fundies they can do anything they want, rape and pillage their entire lives, then kiss the ecclesiastical AS$ and be good to go.

Obviously, they are trying to please others, but that is very sad because they are only fooling themselves.

Jesus didn't come to save the righteous, rather He came to save the unrighteous. Christians are human beings and as such they are all prone to sin. If a drug addict gives his life over to Jesus, he may struggle with that sin for years before becoming spiritually mature. Others who come to Christ are thieves, robbers, murderers, rapists, liars, perverse-etc. Some people mature in their faith more quickly than others, some people have learning disabilities and some are simply more stubborn. God receives us all as individuals and has a path set which is right for us based on our abilities. Christians are sinners like everybody else, the difference is we confess our sin and ask for Gods help to overcome sin in our lives. Next time you see a Christian sinning understand that they may be dealing with God in other areas and have not yet reached spiritual maturity in that sin you had witnessed. The first things God dealt with me were alcohol and drug use. That lesson took me about 20 years to accomplish. Then God dealt with my swearing and using His name in vain. That lesson went much more quickly. There are many more areas in my life that God has yet to deal with me but He is patient and knows that I would be overwhelmed if He dealt with all my sin at one time. Little by little He will mold me into what He created me to be. Peace.
