Famine is the result of the absence of food. You go hungry, not for the afternoon or the evening, but for days on end. Since you probably have seen one or two "post-apocalypse" movies, i.e., movies about a time when order and the rule of law breaks down, you have some sense of what it means to be unable to find food and how that affects people's behaviors. Consequently, people employ force, even killing, in order to survive.
The Book of Revelation unveils twenty-one separate judgments of God over the seven year period.
The following summarize the 21 judgments of God that will be imposed during the seven-year tribulation, according to the Book of Revelation.
Judgments of the first 3.5 years in The Revelation:
Seven Seal Judgments – the Four Horses of the Apocalypse
1. Antichrist (false, impersonator of Jesus) is revealed to the world - white horse (Revelation 6:1-2)
2. War – red horse (Rev 6:2-4)
3. Famine (starvation) – black horse (Rev 6:5-6)
4. Pestilence (disease) – pale horse – a fourth part of mankind killed (Rev 6:7-8)
5. Martyrdom of Saints (Rev 6:9-11) - believers in Jesus are killed for their faith
6. Signs in Heavens, Big Earthquake, Anarchy (Rev 6:12-17)
7. Silence in Heaven – opens “7 Trumpets” (Revelation 8:1)
Seven Trumpet Judgments (1 thru 6 during the first 3.5 years of tribulation)
1. Hail, fire, and blood – third part of the trees destroyed (Rev 8:7)
2. Fiery mountain (volcano) – third part of the sea and its creatures destroyed (Rev 8:8-9)
3. Great meteor, Wormwood – third part of the waters became undrinkable (Rev 8:10-11)
4. Darkness – third part of the sun and moon are darkened (Rev 8:12-13)
5. First Woe - Locusts – poisonous like scorpions; people desire death (Revelation 9:1-12)
6. Second Woe - 200-million man army from the east – third part of mankind killed (Rev 9:13-21)
Judgments of the second 3.5 years in The Revelation:
7. Third Woe – opens seven “bowl judgments” (Revelation 11:15-19)
Seven Bowl Judgments
1. Sores (boils, open wounds) - afflicting all those who took the mark of the beast (Revelation 16:1-2)
2. Sea turns to blood – all sea creatures die (Rev 16:3)
3. Rivers and waters turn to blood (Rev 16:4-7)
4. Sun - scorches men with fire (Rev 16:8-9)
5. Beast’s kingdom – goes dark causing great pain and anxiety (Rev 16:10-11)
6. Euphrates river dried up – to allow the kings of the east to move into position (Rev 16:12)
7. Great worldwide earthquake – cities fall; hail; islands, mountains disappear (Rev 16:17-21)
And, then comes the final battle in Israel … in the Valley of Megiddo - the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus (Rev 19)
By calculation 50% of the world will have died from the first of the 14 judgments. It is estimated that, by the time that Jesus comes (Second Coming) to destroy those that oppose Him at Armageddon, that 80% of the world’s population will have died.
Man will NOT be destroying himself through nuclear weapons or causing a devastating environmental disaster. What happens to the world will be from the direct cause of judgment by God. It will be unmistakable.
Once the Battle of Armageddon is over, in which Jesus defeats all those that oppose Him, thereafter will be the "sheep and goat" judgment (Matthew 25:31-46). Those that survive on earth following the Battle of Armageddon will stand before Jesus. The goats (non-believers) will be on His left and the sheep (believers) will be on His right. ALL "goats" will then immediately be cast into hell. Thus, ONLY believers will then enter into the Millennium Kingdom period in which Jesus rules with an "iron scepter" for 1000 years.
