What do you think is the right age for girls to start wearing makeup?

I would say when a girl feels she wants to wear. There is no right or wrong, some rather go natural and barefaced yet some would go on makeup. It also about how comfortable you are wearing makeup in a situation. Like would you really go cake faced when doing sports, but then again I am no one to judge. You do and don't let anyone tell you otherwise ;)

p.s I had a passion for makeup since 3rd grade but actually started wearing it in 7th grade

Parents and school dress code permitting, girls can start wearing a bit around 7th or 8th grade. By the time they're a freshmen in high school they should be allowed to wear makeup however they want.

I think you can start wearing makeup whenever you want, as long as it is for you and not for some boy ot because you are pressured to. Your parents might feel differently though, they probably wont let you wear makeup until you are 13 or 14 but there's nothing wrong with wearing makeup if it makes you happy. Just keep in mind that it is your parents choice so if they dont want you to wear makeup yet, respect that until they let you, you arent missing out on all that much

I started loving makeup in 4th grade, I would take my mothers makeup and start putting it on my face. When I went out I didn't always wear makeup but at birthday parties etc. I did. I also did my makeup when I was bored as practice. Years later, I am excellent at makeup. I would say a good age is 8th grade or 9th grade.

I started wearing light qmounts of makeup in 5th grade, clear mascara and lip glosses and I was wearing more each year after that. I don't think there is anything wrong with young girls wearing small amounts of makeup especially considering how critical other kids can be. A little bit of makeup here and there is also a lot of fun for younger girls. I'd say small amounts at 10, and gradually add more over time.

Your body, your choice but for myself I waited until my senior year of high school (17) and wish I would've worn it sooner and discovered how makeup enhances the beauty that already exist. I would say 15.

As I was scrolling through the answers, I was really suprised. I started wearing makeup at 10! Just a little, though- a bit of lip gloss, and some concealer if my skin was looking particularly bad. Now, I usually wear more like mascara, occasionally eyeliner, lipgloss, concealer and eyeshadow, and i am 13. I think part of it really depends on whether other girls and boys are also wearing makeup. But then again, Its your personal choice!

Of course this is my opinion, but -- Starting in middle school, which is 11 I think? For middle school though, you really dont need much. Just basics - eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and lipgloss. Starting in high school at 14 you can start experimenting (foundation, powder, etc).

What a great, controversial question! I'd say IMHO once she hits puberty, a small amount of makeup is okay, with close attention to how much she wears and knowledge on why she wears it. We don't want to give our young women or young men the wrong idea at too young of an age

I respect everyone's opinions on when they think a girl can start to wear makeup. I believe that you should use it when you feel like you are ready to use it!!! I think at least a teen because if little kids wear makeup they will think they will always need to to look good. Little kids easily get silly things like that engraved in their minds when they try stuff like makeup.

There isn't a set age, people should be allowed to wear makeup whenever they want. It isn't permanent and it should be allowed to be as colourful or all basic as they want. Makeup is art, you aren't going to stop a little kid draw because she "isn't old enough". It's rediculous and there shouldn;t be a set age.

I think that we shouldn't makeup until high school. I mean it's obviously best to stay "innocent" but hey I'd say the youngest probably 12, you can't be too strict it's good to let girls express them self I mean to give them freedom would be the right way. i think most beauty gurus become interested in makeup up when they are preteens. i think thats the age when girls/boys become more concerned about what they look like. I think any age is fine to be honest, as long as the wearer is not allergic to their makeup and they are loving it!
