Why are so many of the 'questions' asked on here not actually questions (instead being merely statements with a '?' after them)?

Because of they posted them on Facebook they would get no likes and less comments 😂

A lot of people don't know how to properly format a question, perhaps because of their educational level or perhaps they are coping with English as a second language. If I can discern a question of some sort in these sorts of posts, I'll endeavor to answer it if I have a legitimate answer, but there are Site Police who will report these sorts of "questions" for technical violations.

And a lot of time people will pose a statement in the "question" (like as an example, "I need help with my computer?" but then provide the actual question in the details. This happens in situations where the question is too complicated for the space allowed.

And then there are people who are just making statements. Yahoo Answers automatically puts a question mark at the end of them...which a lot of times tends to reverse the intent of the statement. Example: "All Vulcans are stupid?" "Girls should wear less make-up?"

Because even if you don't put the question mark it automatically goes there since it is supposed to be a questikn

Interesting explanation. Are people that sad & pathetic that they need the gratification of a 'like'?
