Do Men Really Want Women to Wear Less Makeup?

I would say yes men prefer less makeup, but then again I see more men with women that wear a lot so it's all so contradicting. one thing men don't understand is that makeup is self expression and it is not even remotely for them anyways. It is for ourselves and because we simply love putting it on. The makeup industry is skyrocketing big time.

I have met way too many men in my life who cannot notice my makeup unless I make it really obvious (bright colours, winged liner or any bright lipstick). They honestly think I'm not wearing any.

Hell, there are pics of celebrities online wearing natural-looking makeup and then you have swarms of guys smugly commenting "See? Girls look better without all that junk on their face!" Many of them honestly can't tell and will be attracted to girls who ARE wearing makeup but believing that they're not.

I think men like natural looking makeup that is enough to enhance your features but not enough to be noticeable.

I usually wear makeup, but I am pretty comfortable without it, too. Except from the days I want to conceal a bad zit or a bad night's sleep. My boyfriend adores me in either way. I used to believe men like women who wear minimal makeup or none, but haven't met a man yet who does not love a glammed up look (makeup and dress) for a date night.

Makeup if applied should be done in a manner that it looks natural. Men generally don t prefer too much makeup. They like women wearing less makeup or no makeup.

Generally, men prefer women who wear less makeup but always tend to go for woman who wear makeup which confuses me haha
But honestly I stopped caring by this point and just do what makes me happy, if I want to cake on 50 pounds of foundation and do dramatic eye makeup, I wouldn't stop just because a man doesn't like it, because how is it any of his business of what I do to my face? If I feel pretty I'll keep doing it, and eventually you will find someone who loves you for you, if they honestly care that much about how much makeup you put on and make you feel bad, they're not worth your time.

Generally, men are more attracted to women who look like they were just born pretty and don't wear makeup. Not just men, everyone. Use makeup to make yourself look like you are naturally pretty without wearing any. If you want heavy eye makeup, save that for special night dates.

Men usually don't the like the idea of women being 'made up'. This can make men feel that they are not getting the true impression of you.
Men would much rather see natural or real beauty rather than fake beauty, because natural kind of comes from the heart. It can feel more true. However, fake beauty can give men the wrong impression and actually turn a guy off, because they wouldn't be seeing the true you.

It also depends on perspective. Not all men prefer women to wear less makeup, but the majority of men do. Most women naturally like to wear bright, vivid makeup, because most women like the look of it. While men have a different perspective on it. Most men don't naturally like bright pinks, blues, greens or any glitter. They usually like subtle, natural, fall like colors.

Some do, but from what I see guys usually go gags over females with lots of makeup on. If they do go for a female without makeup, something else probably is compensating her looks for attraction like hair being done really we'll, or clothing style fits her. Or they appreciate her with no makeup after they get in a relationship. This is just what I've seen in my experience.

I honestly don't think guys can even tell if you're wearing makeup most of the time, and they probably don't give a **** if they can tell. Guys always say that kind of stuff online to protect the image of 'wanting a real woman', but I see guys with girls completely caked in **** tons of makeup all the time and I see guys with all natural girls all the time. Kylie and Kendall Jenner probably get the most 'sexy' comments on Instagram right now and they're wearing a **** TON of makeup in their pictures. Makeup culture is definitely growing, what with its culmination on social media, and I think most men couldn't care less about it. They normally don't even notice it, and if they do they just think 'hmm, okay'. It all depends on the guy. There's also some who would probably get a little freaked out by a girl wearing deep contouring, winged black smoky eyes, and overlined red lips on an every day work day, but probably some guys who would just think that girl looked good as hell. It doesn't seem to matter that much.

It depends on the guy and depends on the girl. Guys don't want girls to have caked faces. But quite honestly, I used to wear a ton of make up. I thought It was attractive because I was naïve I didn't know anything. But then I heard that guys like it when girls wear no make up so I tried it for a while and I looked absolutely terrible. I think that's the same with some other people.

Once your makeup has a natural look it will be fine. It's not attractive to both men or women when someone has on layers and layers of makeup

A lot of men always say they want girls to wear no makeup and say that it doesn't make girls look different or enhance their beauty. That's bullshit. (IF THE MAKEUP IS APPLIED PROPERLY TO MAKE A NATURAL LOOK) a lot of guys wouldn't be able to tell if she's wearing makeup or not. If you placed two girls in front of him, one with makeup and one without, he would think the girl in makeup is prettier. not even realizing she has makeup on. Most guys only don't like a massive amount of foundation caked on, bright colored eyeshadow and a ton of eyeliner. So long as your makeup is kept clean and natural looking, guys don't have a clue.

Obvious make up draws attention but often not in a good way. Its some women look cheap rather than classy. It's hard to pull off obvious make up to look classy. Unless you deliberately intend to draw attention on a short time scale, it's not the approach to take. There are times to deliberately draw attention on a short time scale.

Men are attracted on a longer time scale to a natural look. If you use make up to cover flaws and accent strengths in a way that does not look like you are wearing make up, that's better than either actually not made up or obviously made up that achieves classy. Of course it's even harder to pull off the appearance of not wearing make up.

Remember that there is never a chance to make a good second impression. If you meet a guy looking made up it's going to effect his view of you for a very long time. So go minimalist on first dates that have any sort of long term potential.

If a woman wears too much and it LOOKS caked on, like it looks the same (and dull) from every angle, it's bad. If it's done well it's great. If I can tell it's there, I know she has good taste.
