Robert Louis Stevenson 於1892年依 Skye Boat Song 旋律所寫的詞。歌詞緬懷的是一個傳誦至今的年代，一場淒美的戰役，一位象徵性人物，Bonnie Prince Charlie。描述的是The Battle of Culloden (1746) 戰後，Prince 乘船逃離蘇格蘭的情景。Culloden 戰後，英格蘭對蘇格蘭採取高壓統治，廢宗族制度，禁著傳統服飾，蘇格蘭高地千百年沿襲的文化傳統不復舊觀。
