633 Squadron, starring Cliff Robertson, is one of my favourite war movies, just for the sound of the Mosquito Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. Don't think there are any flight-worthy Mosquitoes left.

Hollywood war movies in the 60's and before were very cheesy. The German soldiers were portrayed as bad guys and not worthy of fighting. In the later half of the War, the Germans had no air support and were greatly outnumbered in men and war equipment.

According to Wikipedia, a "company" of soldiers (with the group size of 80 - 225 soldiers) is led by a captain (or major). So, Godfrey has done the research.
