45 yr old man with vision problem?

Hi,

I am a 45 yr old guy and ever since I turned 40, I have needed reading glasses. Well now I am 45 and my prescription glasses are not really
helping any more. I have perfect distance vision, but close up or to read, I am virtually blind. I see white blur.

My question is would laser surgury fix this and not ruin my distance vision?
Or am I up a creek and married to these pain in my @$$ glasses?

I just hate wearing glasses and I really have trouble putting in contacts
and taking them out.

You're asking us a question you should be asking your eye care provider. But as someone who also wears glasses, I think your near-sightedness can be corrected by the right type of laser surgery.

I too had trouble with contacts and my dr (optom't) even offered me a partical refund if I would give up the idea! But I finally got use to them and then moved on to "soft" kind. I am surprised that you have not seen an eye dr. between the ages of 40 & 45! That seems like along time. I use to go every 3 yrs, per my insurance. NOW my insurance covers an every year examine. It might pay you to re-examne your coverage. And then submit your laser question to a professional.
