As you said, it was a deceptive case in Canada. If it is concerning malpractice of bussiness etc,you can either phone up the MPP's Constituency Office or by sending a report. Otherwise you can ask the lawyer to represent you to lodge a complaint against the suspect and being judged by the court.

Since your case is under investigation, there should be a police report/incident report filed with the Police Department. Here is what you can do:
1. Obatin a copy of the police/incident report from the Police Department.
2. Call the Police Department to follow up on the case, and find out its status.
3. With the police report on hand, then you can coordinate with the Deception Unit for its progress.
4. If the Deception Unit stated that they have not received the case, then you can present them a copy of the report as I mentioned above. Of course you should always keep a copy of any documents pertaining to the case for yourself.

The RCMP is working on cases reported 8 months ago. Cases reported 2 weeks ago go into the backlog which will never be visited again.

Forget about your case with the RCMP. If you suffer any loss, resort to other means such as the credit card company (if that applies), etc.

d suggest you revise the description of your problem. First you said the scam/fraud report was filed with the police two weeks ago, then you go on to say: "they are managing the case which was reported 8 months ago."

Which one is it?
