我想請問一下各位，說napkin外國人會給你衛生棉嗎？
不會! 除非您要的是 "Sanitary Napkin"

Maybe in Chinese, they all called 衛生棉. but "tampon" and "pantyliner" are really different things

For the sanitary napkin or sanitary pads in USA they called it sanitary napkin.
For the sanitary napkin or diaper in UK, they called it napkin=Nappy formally,old-fashioned.
For a piece of cloth or paper used at the American Restaurant for protecting your clothes,dress and cleaning your mouth-lips and grease fingers,the waiter and waitress will bring you (table napkin).

這個問題好像是，在美國查漢字辭典，上面寫：

一號 （台灣用語） 廁所

問題：「在台灣抽籤，抽中一號會不會被送去廁所？」

衛生墊翻譯為Sanitary pads


尿布和尿褲和紙尿褲
都翻譯為Diaper字典：尿布皮炎 diaper dermatitis; napkin-area dermatitis

哈哈 Napkin 在餐廳說的話是指 "紙巾"~

napkin是指一塊紙或是布的巾. 大多是用餐時提到的多. 高級的餐廳沒有紙的, 速食餐廳沒有布的.

拿來當衛生棉用時一定會前面加個feminine napkins. 拿來當尿布時一定是指布的. 雖然古老的用法會當尿片用. 但是那跟之乎者也一樣老了吧.

Depending on the context of usage...

Don't think anyone would be so lacking sense to give you a tampon when you ask for a napkin in a restaurant...unless they are suffering from heavy retardation.

絕對不會, 如果妳在美國餐廳跟 waiter or waitress 要 napkin, 我保證他(她)只會拿紙巾給妳.

在美國這麼久，去餐館N次了，到目前為止還沒有碰過要napkin給衛生棉的。

So far now, I have NOT gotten a pantyliner yet! If I did, I might get small fortune!
However, if I asked for a sanitary napkin, I certainly would get one.
