no wonder 用法一問

英文有一句成語，
It is no use crying over spilt milk.

也有人寫成
There is no use crying over spilt milk.

兩句在文法上都正確，分別在那裏呢﹖
It is + adjective
There is + noun

It is no use = It us useless
no use 是形容詞。

There is no use ....
use 是名詞

同樣，It is no wonder that ...
no wonder 是形容詞，解「不足為奇」
= It is not surprising that ...

John practised day and night before the contest. It is no wonder that he won easily.

There is no wonder that ...
wonder 是名詞

John practised day and night before the contest. There is no wonder that he won easily.

意思上有沒有分別呢﹖我覺得沒有分別。

另一慣用語 no small wonder 就只能作形容詞，解「十分奇怪」
Jane has a small body. It is no small wonder that she won the 100 meter race.


no big deal
no big surprise
這些都只能作形容詞，要用 It is ...

應該兩個寫法都冇錯的，不過意思上有些微差別：

It is no wonder that something happened是表明一個事實的評價
這something的發生事實上不足為奇

There is no wonder that something people believes是意見上的評價
這something也有人相信其實沒有甚麼值得奇怪

有點難以文字表達當中的差別，你可以試以it is=就是和there is=有
來試分：
即是
用it is 是表示「xx就是不足為奇」
用there is是表示「xx有不足為奇的情況」
