48 boys and 60 girls joined a treasure hunt competition.The teacher wants to group the students into as many groups as possible,so that each group has the same number of the boy and the same number of girls.What is the maximum number of groups? What are the numbers of boys and girls in each group?

Find the HCF, highest common factor.
Find the highest number that can divide both 48 and 60.
The numbers are 2, 3, 4, 6, 12. The biggest number is 12.
12 groups can be formed

In each group, there are 48 /12 = 4 boys
and
60/12 = 5 girls.
