‘Chinese Cinderella’ is a true story of Adeline Yen Mah's miserable childhood and her courage of surviving in an affluent and powerful family. After Adeline’s mother died after giving birth to her, her family considered her bad luck. Therefore, Adeline grew up with the guilt and that her mother died because of her. Since she was born in to her family, she was alone and isolated. When Adeline's father remarried, her life became harder. Her stepmother and siblings bullied and disdained her. Adeline tried hard to get her father’s attention and proved prove her worth. After Adeline became an outstanding student, she reveled in the praise she receives received from her father. However, it could not eliminate her stepmother and siblings’ execration for her and even made her more tormented. One day, she joined took part in a writing competition and she won. Thus, she got a golden chance to study abroad with her brother. and Finally she became a doctor. Hence, Adeline’s fate was changed and she started a new life.
