英文日期 30st 30th ?

留意到大家學英文只是死背, 爲甚麽日期的數字後要加"st", "nd", "rd" 或"th"?

只因爲我們説日期的方法跟英語人不同, 我們説"七月一號", 他們説成"七月的第一日"(the first day of July), 我們説"七月三十號", 他們説成"七月的第三十日"(the thirtieth day of July). 即是, 日子一定要説成第X日.

然後,爲了書冩方便, 就簡化成 1st July, 2nd July, 3rd July, 4th July,...30th July...., 原文如下:

1st=first
2nd=second
3rd=third
4th=fourth
5th=fifth
6th=sixth
7th=seventh
8th=eighth
9th=ninth
10th=tenth
11th=eleventh
12th=twelfth
13th=thirteenth
14th=fourteenth
...
20th=twentieth
21st=twenty-first
22nd=twenty-second
23rd=twenty-third
24th=twenty-fourth
...

30th=thirtieth
31st=thirty-first

正確的是30th June 2010

30th June is correct

first - st = lst , 21st, 31 st
second - nd = 2nd, 22nd
third - rd = 2rd, 23rd

12th = twelfth
20th = twentieth
30th = thirtieth

因该用 30th June 2010.

st 只用在 1， 21， 31，.... 如：1st， 21st， 31st，41， .... 等。
除 11 系用 th， 如： 11th， 111th， 211th，..... 等。

nd 只用在 2， 22， 32，..... 如：2nd， 22nd，32nd，42，..... 等。
除 12 系用 th， 如： 12th， 112th， 212th，..... 等。

rd 只用在 3，23，33，..... 如：3rd，23rd，33rd，43， ..... 等。
除 13 系用 th： 13th，113th，213th，..... 等。

其他都用 th.

英文日期寫成30st June 2010是錯的!
30th June 2010才是正確!

正確的寫法是30th June 2010
