The failure of “Undergrad Grill”

There are several restaurants district on Restaurant Row near Benson University. Therefore, many undergrad and graduate students, teachers, and families went to there to find exotic foods. The boss Tom Higgins opened a new restaurant on Restaurant Row. He called it the “Undergrad Grill”. However, the new restaurant was a failure and soon closed. There are many reasons why he closed his own restaurant.

One of the reasons is boss and staff. As a consequence of pay for high rent, boss only hired two waitresses and could not afford professional chefs, and did not have money to do much advertising. In addition, he wanted to open the restaurant as soon as possible. He was supposed to prepare everything by step by step.

Another reason is menu & rules. The price was too high and nothing special entrees, food cannot be taken out, and children cannot enter under Age 5. In addition, students cannot pay checks, only credit card and cash. The most important the name” Undergrad Grill” was not good. It mean only welcomed undergrad students could enter in, others not.

Finally, the last reason is location & shape of the building. The building was too normal and usual, the sign or board on the door was too obvious, and the name “Undergrad Grill” was too tall to see. There are many special and exotic restaurants on Restaurant Row. Furthermore, it might have effects on business.

To sum up, every thing happens for a reason. That was why the number of customers was decreasing. All in all, it concludes that every business also has tasks. If we do the right thing, we can avoid the problems. It is up to us!

There are several restaurant districts on Restaurant Row near Benson University. Therefore, many undergrad and graduate students, teachers, and families went there for exotic foods. The boss Tom Higgins opened a new restaurant called "Undergrad Grill" on Restaurant Row. However, this restaurant turned out to be a failure and closed down soon afterwards. There are many reasons behind this failure.

The first reason is financial problem. While Tom Higgins had to pay high rent, he had insufficient fund for hiring professional chefs. What he could only afford was to hire two waitresses. And he did not even have money to do much advertising. In addition, he was too hasty to start a business of his own. Obviously, he should have had better planning and preparation.

The second reason is about its menu & rules. There was nothing special about the entrees and, therefore, prices seemed to be relatively too high. The rules were too rigid (死板的): there was no take-away service available, and children under the age of 5 were not admitted. In addition, students could not pay by check; only credit card and cash payments were accepted. And more importantly, the restaurant's name --- "Undergrad Grill" --- was no good. It implied that only undergrad students were welcome to get in, but nobody else.

Finally, the last reason is its location & the look of the building. There were too many special and exotic restaurants on Restaurant Row. So, you can imagine how fierce competition was!! And this adversely affected his business. Besides, the look of the building was too plain and unattractive; the sign box "Undergrad Grill" was hung too high for people to notice it; it should be displayed at an eye-catching position (當眼處).

To sum up, nothing happens without a reason. That was why the number of customers was decreasing. All in all, we may conclude that every business has its own problems. If we do the right things and also do the things right, we might avoid all the problems. It all depends on what we have done!

The failure of “Undergrad Grill”

There are several restaurants district on Restaurant Row near Benson University . Therefore, many undergraduate and graduate students, teachers, and their families went there to try out exotic foods. The boss Tom Higgins opened a new restaurant on Restaurant Row by the name of “Undergrad Grill”. However, the new restaurant was a failure and closed very soon. There are many reasons why he closed his own restaurant.

One of the reasons is the issue of staffing. Since they were paying high rent, the boss only hired two waitresses to run the restaurant. They could not afford to hire professional chefs and do much advertising. In addition, he wanted to open the restaurant way before he is entirely prepared.

Another reason is the menu and the regulations. The price was too high and special entrees were not available. They did not offer the option of taking out and children under age 5 were not allowed in the restaurant. In addition, students can only pay their bills by credit card and cash. No checks were accepted. The most important drawback is the name was not created correctly. It mean only undergraduate students were welcome.

Finally, they had to take the location and shape of the building into account as well. The design of the building was nothing special. The sign on the door was too obvious, and the name “Undergrad Grill” was too tall to see. There are many special restaurant competitors on the Restaurant Row which may affect their business.

To sum up, everything happens for a reason. That was why the number of customers was decreasing. All in all, it concludes that every business also has tasks. If we do the right thing, we can avoid the problems. It is up to us!

The failure of “Undergrad Grill”

There are several DINNING districtS IN Restaurant Row near Benson University. Many undergradS and graduate students, teachers, and families (YOU MEAN LOCAL PEOPLE?) went there LOOKING FOR exotic foods. The boss Tom Higgins opened a new restaurant IN Restaurant Row. ITS CALLED, the “Undergrad Grill”. However, the BUSINESS was a failure and HE DECIDED TO CLOSE IT DOWN. There WERE many reasons why he closed THE restaurant.

One of the reasons WAS HE NEEDED TO PAY THE HIGH EXPENSES. Such as: payING for THE rent, THE WAGES FOR two waitresses AND A CHEF. HE did not have ENOUGH MONEY to do much advertising. In addition, he wanted to open the restaurant as soon as possible. Another reason WAS ON THE MENU. The priceS WERE SET too high FOR EACH FOOD ITEM and (nothing special entrees) 你想指冇特式既主菜? THE CHOICES OF THE ENTREES SEEMS BORING.

THE THIRD REASON WAS ON THE RULES. THE RESTUARANT ONLY PROVIDE EAT IN ONLY. CHILDRENS under THE AGE OF 5 WERE NOT WELCOMED. In addition, students COULD NOT PAID BY checks/CHEQUES. Only credit cardS and cash WERE ACCEPTED. The most important WAS the CHOICE OF THE name ”Undergrad Grill” was not APPROPRIATE. It MEANT THE RESTAURANT ONLY welcomed undergrad students, AND NOT others.
THE FORTH reason WAS THE location. (shape of the building) NEW REASON. (YOU DIDNT MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT THE LOCATION)
Last reason just say about the BUILDING is fine.
THE FINAL REASON WAS the building. THE OUTLOOK WAS TOO PLAIN NO DECORATIONS AT ALL. The sign “Undergrad Grill” was SET too HIGH. ITS DIFFICULT TO LOOK AT. There are many special and exotic restaurants AROUND THE AREA. FOR SURE ITS DIFFICULT FOR "UNDERGRAD GRILL" TO COMPETE IN THE AREA.

To sum up, IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT MR. HIGGINS TO FAIL HIS RESTARANT BUSINESS. The number of customers WERE decreasing. All in all, it concludes that ALL KIND OF BUSINESS HAS ITS DIFFICULTIES. If EVERYTHING BEEN DONE CAREFULLY, THE PROBLEMS CAN BE AVOIDED. GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WHO IS GOING TO HAVE HIS/HERS OWN BUSINESS.
