The sentence should read:
Don't spend all your time wondering "what if". It is better to have tried and failed than not to have tried at all.

不要浪費時間擔心行不通，試過，失敗過都比不去嘗試好。

what if 的意思是「假如某些事情令計劃失敗，怎麼辦﹖」
e.g.
what if they do not support me?
what if I cannot do it well?
what if people do not like it?
etc.

better to do A than B
做 A 比做 B 好
