It was absolutely amazing here. I started in Tiananmen square watching the countdown clock and then went over to Wanfujing to watch it on the big public television. The energy here was amazing, the Chinese were just frenzied with excitement.
And they cheered for almost every country, even the US, who got a rousing applause. Although it immediately switched to short boos when ol' GW came on the screen, but as soon as he left it went back to big cheers. Tells me something about they way they view things.
But overall it was a great experience, I'm glad I got to see it here in person.
