如有,這個 noun 是一個集體名詞 (collective noun) 或普通名詞嗎?且是看作 plural 嗎?是 countable 或 uncountable 呢?
如 The rich helps/help the poor.
還有,the + pre. participle/past participle 是否等同一個集體名詞 (collective noun) 或普通名詞嗎?且是看作 plural 嗎?是 countable 或 uncountable 呢?
如 the injured, the interesting, the relaxing,不用寫明 the injured people, the interesting book, the relaxing garden
The injured were lying on the floor when I arrived at the scene.

✔ 最佳答案
the+adj可以成為名詞,其所成的名詞又分為複數普通名詞和抽象名詞兩種。
1)複數普通名詞
The rich are apt to despise the poor(富有的人易於藐視窮人)
  rich和poor原是形容詞,解釋做「富有的」和「貧窮的」,一旦在它們前面加上冠詞the,即成了「富有的人們」(=rich people)、「貧窮的人們」(=poor people)
  有時我們也在做形容詞用的現在分詞、過去分詞前面加冠詞the,而成為普通複數名詞,如下:
  The living were few(生存者寥寥無幾)
The wounded were carried to hospital(受傷者被送往醫院)
  另外,我們還可以在形容詞前面接以副詞:
  如:The lightly wouned were neglected(輕傷者被疏忽在一旁)
the sick, the young, the old, the English, the dying, the learned...等等,都是用the+形容詞=名詞。
(注意)當此用法將兩個併排出現,並且對照著說時,則將the省略
如:Young and old, rich and poor went to see it.
2)抽象名詞
如:He has no sense of the beautiful.(他沒有美感)
 beautiful原是形容詞,加上the成為抽象名詞「美」,the good(善),the true(真),the impossible(不可能)...等等亦同。
the injured是一個複數形的普通名詞
但the interesting應該要加books,因為通常我們不知interesting所修飾者是甚麼事物
the relaxing garden的relaxing是動名詞(之前講過),所以不可說成the relaxing.

It's depends on the noun
It is plural
It' s depends on the noun
Ex- "rich " is not plural and countable

It's common noun
Plural and countable or not all depend on the noun

They can don't state the" people " if they have talk about the word before
