問我就o岩喇, sort of 同 kind of 係美國人成日掛o係口邊既字....o係casual conversation 用量超高

kind of/sort of 不等於'還好'

多數有兩個用法:
1. 如果用黎答野, sort of 同 kind of 就好似中文既 'ok 啦,有d啦' 咁上下,即係一個好含糊既回答法...

好多時人地問野,你講sort of就係好似講左冇講咁,例如你個question:
A: Do you like your new job?
B: Sort of. (等於中文話:ok啦, 咁即係其實唔可以話係鍾意,不過算係ok)
省略了什麼字? 可以講sort of like the job, 不過冇人會咁講啦,太clumpsy

2. 第二個用法係句子中加o係adj之前,sort of/kind of 既meaning就係'有點兒', 將一個形容詞變得比較mild...
例如: He looks weird today 他今日好怪
He looks kind of weird today他今日有d怪

仲有一點,係我個人意見, 以日常對話黎講sort of 比較常用於答人野 (用法1),而kind of就多數放o係 adj之前 (用法2)

不過sort of 同 kind of真係好好用o架, 好o野o黎o架

kind of 唔係解「還好」,而係「有d」、「某程度上」。你o個句bo既答案其實全寫係:
Yes, I kind of like my new job. =份工都ok啦=>可以譯作還好
但其實 kind of 亦可以講唔好o既o野,如:
He's kind of weird, don't you think? 佢呢個人都有d古怪架喎,你話係咪?
所以不能一概而論譯作還好。
