The head of China’s parliament 人大之首 gave a personal assurance 保證 that Beijing will continue to respect 重視 Hong Kong’s autonomy (autonomy 怎解？) as he opened a major telecom 電信 show 展覽會 here today. Wu (為何Wu 譯作吳？) Bangguo 邦國, China’s number two leader 中國二號頜導人, said Beijing has full faith 信心 in the one-country, two systems policy 一國兩制政策, and once again praised 稱讚 Donald Tsang’s government 政府.

吳在普通話中念作wu, 所以翻成英文時也用Wu。
在香港/廣東話發音像ng, 所以才翻成Ng。
順帶一提, 在福建話中發音像gaw,所以我一位福建朋友雖然姓吳, 但英文姓是Gaw, 害得被人誤會是混血兒。

中國人的姓名發音很多, 所以拼成英文時要格外小心,
要注意對方是用那一個方言拼音的才好
