No! Yahoo Answers is a private sector company, meaning it is the part of the economy that is run by individuals for profit and is not state controlled. Therefore, it encompasses an all for-profit business and is not owned or operated by the government. 

Trump-a-dump had no control over Yahoo Answers. Yahoo is a private company, nut a public utility. He could order his buddy to slow down the post office, but Yahoo was outside his control.

Yahoo! shut down their comments section while he was still president and he didn't stop them then. What do you think he would be doing about this? What power do you think a president has to stop a privately owned website from shutting down?

Let's deal with the here and now since Trump left  he's been  is a paper tiger all he ever carved was attention and he knew what lies to feed you gullible morons .

No since one of the reasons it is shutting down is that the cost of dealing with supposed pro-Trump trolls exceeds the revenue that the site is bringing in.  Had Trump never been President the number of trolls, and the required monitoring costs, would both have been lower.

The reality of it shutting down is, just like the old Yahoo Groups, the income brought in by the advertisements on it is less than the cost of moderating the site.  If this was a major profit generating site it would not be shutting down.  This is a prime example of Capitalism at work.  Of course as I mentioned above there are several other reasons but all are related to money for the most part.  The sequence of events that led to it shutting down are obvious:

1.  The idea of best answer was changed from a vote to the choice of the asker.  This basically meant that in the majority of cases a person chose the answer that best fell in line with their beliefs as opposed to actually answering the question.  The reason for this though was probably because, in many cases, the best answer designation was becoming a popularity contest rather than one based on facts.

2.  They shut down the comments section which was becoming the dominion of trolls in many cases.

3.  The number of trolls in both the question and answer sections has become unmanageable and, in some cases, troll questions and answers out number actual questions and answers by a significant amount.

4.  People were losing creativity as in many sections the same question and even the same answers are being posted with slight changes, often by the same people.

5.  Finally as I said it comes down to cost.  It became too costly to deal with the reports of both questions and answers submitted to Yahoo.  When it first started yahoo responded to these reports, notified the person whose answer or question was challenged, and gave them a chance to appeal.  Now it seems like they are either removed or ignored since it simply takes too much time.

6.  Last and finally, to repeat what I said before, TROLLS drove the site out of existence faster than it normally would have.

Trump and Biden have absolutely nothing to do with this site. They are shutting it down because it’s a cesspool of trolling, harassment, bigotry etc and they are either unable or unwilling to take control of it.

If Verizon wouldn't have bought Yahoo Inc., Yahoo Answers would have remain online and operative. Verizon doubled the price of Mail Pro annual subscriptions too, after many years I have canceled it. 100's of cheap mail providers to choose from...

Yes I do, I think the January riots had a lot to do with the shutdown. Its become a huge legal issue for social media, if anybody can post any answer no matter how misleading or inaccurate then its a ticking timebomb waiting to explode.
It matters little on the subject of stuff like entertainment and celebrities but when you have trolls posting fake news about politics, race relations, crime, the economy, virus, vaccines, etc its going to upset people and some of them will be incited to violence. Perhaps the price of free speech is too much if people are getting killed. Yahoo Answers, like all social media, was created to glean data and manipulate the public. Only the naïve believe it was created as a public service. The public has been told it was all about product marketing. Some of it was and that helped pay the bills. The main purpose, however, was to identify everyone for social and political manipulation. Trump's tenure in politics, whether it's over or not, had nothing to do with Y/A shutting down.
