Native English speakers, could you please help me with these issues?

Are these sentences correct (or do they make sense):


a) "The lobster GRIT me with its PINCERS."

Note: By 'grit', I mean that they hurt me with their claws


b) "Lobsters live in a hazardous MEDIUM, where there are many predators, and they OCCUPY a low level in the food chain."

To "grit" is used like this:  to grit one's teeth.

You mean pinched or gripped.

And I would say "environment."

Gripped, pinched or nipped. (a)

I think instead of "grit" you want the word "gripped'.    And the world "medium" doesn't fit there.  I would choose the word "environment".
