Native English speakers, could you please help me with these issues?
Are these sentences correct (or do they make sense):
a) "The lobster GRIT me with its PINCERS."
Note: By 'grit', I mean that they hurt me with their claws
b) "Lobsters live in a hazardous MEDIUM, where there are many predators, and they OCCUPY a low level in the food chain."

To "grit" is used like this: to grit one's teeth.
You mean pinched or gripped.
And I would say "environment."
Gripped, pinched or nipped. (a)
The lobster nipped me with its pincers.
Lobsters live in a hazardous environment...
I think instead of "grit" you want the word "gripped'. And the world "medium" doesn't fit there. I would choose the word "environment".
