At this rate, how long would it take the eardrum to receive a total energy of 1.0 J?

A 54-dB sound wave strikes an eardrum whose area is 5.0×10−5m2. The intensity of the reference level required to determine the sound level is 1.0×10−12W/m2. 1yr=3.156×107s.

How much energy is absorbed by the eardrum per second?
P =
1.3×10−11W

What do I need to do to make this more understandable for you?

54 = 10*Log I/Iref
5.4 = Log I/Iref
10^5.4 = I/Iref
I = 10^5.4*10^-12 = 2.51*10^-7 watt/m^2
A = 5.0*10^-5 m^2
power P = I*A = 2.51*10^-7 watt/m^2 * 5.0*10^-5 m^2 = 1.3*10^-11 watt
E per sec = 1.3*10^-11 joule/sec
E per year = 1.3*10^-11 joule/sec *3.156*10^7 sec/year = 4.1*10^-4 joule/year

your numbers are totally meaningless, sorry.
