Zuckerberg is a smart man who does not want his product ruined by trolls the way Y!A has been. The downfall of lack of housekeeping.

Sounds like what they do in NK and China.  Maybe he’s hoping that Facebook becomes an arm of the government that controls what the populace knows.  

Zuck can go and "Fck"(it rhymes with Zuck) so you are clear.  No one can control the internet. YA probably is shutting down to change its algorithm so it does not end up getting CRUCIFIED by the justice department for being involved in what happened in Washington.  Heads are going to roll(and that is going to include those that run FB, Twitter and maybe many more.  Govt. definitely do not want a "repeat" to happen. ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET.
. Justice takes time to happen but arrests are still happening from that incident as people are identified. Nailing social media is a different department and they are dotting the "i"'s and crossing the "t"'s before they drop the HAMMER.

As far as YA shutting down. No. It will become a read only format(meaning they got all the answers the site needs, now people are just trying to chat.)  That is not Y.A. format.

Yahoo! Groups has already shut down and you can no longer post comments on articles. Based on that and this site shutting down, it sure looks that way.

Not as far as I could tell. They only said answers. I can understand you feel the whole company because answers is so used to being there and without it things will never be the same. I know it's confusing even though it's possible Yahoo will close down altogether one day. But we're good for now I guess.

I'm afraid you're wrong. This site is shutting down on May 4 while the rest of the other Yahoo services will remain active.
