V(2300) = V*2300/(2300+550) = 12*23/28.5 = 9.68 V

Ohm's Law: V = i*R
The source sees or senses 550+2300 = 2850Ω
The current leaving the battery = 12V/2850Ω = 4.21e-3 = 4.21mA
Each resistor in series has the same current = 4.21mA
V = i*R = 0.00421A * 2300Ω = 9.7V <<<<<
Across the 550Ω: 0.00421A*550Ω = 2.3V
V2.3+9.7V = 12V Checks.
