How do I quit my volunteer position/practicum?

I am coming up on six months of my practicum position. There was a 6-month minimum and I think it automatically just continues if I don't do anything about it. I am starting a job (basically the same thing but now I will be getting paid) and so I want to quit... Who do I tell, my supervisor or the practicum co-ordinator at the org? How do I tell them? I am working one-on-one with a patient... how much notice should I give them?

As you aren't being paid you don't need to give them any notice. However if you want a reference it might be courteous to give them some notice  1-2wks if your new job will allow it.
How do you tell them? "I'll be leaving as I am starting a paid job from X date, thanks for allowing me to volunteer."

just talk to your manager about it
