What is a real man?

That's only part of it. A real man knows how to deescalate a situation if possible because no one completely wins a fight.

Sometimes you have to fight to be a man. Often you need to be the peace keeper to be a real man.

But a real man also knows he needs to be a good role model to his kids and their friends.

He knows he needs to be a solid provider of a healthy home for his family.

He knows his family comes before his own playtime and will often make sacrifices to put his family first.

He'll teach his sons that manhood is not toxic and to ignore those who try to teach him otherwise.

He will teach his sons to respect  girls the way he respects his own mother or sister, but also what the two different genders are for.

He will teach his sons how to defend themselves and how to become responsible men to carry their world forward.

He will teach his sons to not be deviants or criminals, to respect others and to follow the Lord.

A real man will have a strong work ethic and instill that work ethic into his sons.

Any male can start a fight or use his organ to impregnate a female, but that doesn't make him a man. If he is not there to help raise that child and be a provider as his father, and to provide for that family he is simply a sack of s---.   

Is a real man is real 

That is not a real man, an real man would never use violence if there was a better way. To use violence is to be a coward

A real man is a person who is male.

Way out west there was this fella... fella I wanna tell ya about. Fella by the name of Jeff Lebowski. At least that was the handle his loving parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. Mr. Lebowski, he called himself "The Dude". Now, "Dude" - that's a name no one would self-apply where I come from. But then there was a lot about the Dude that didn't make a whole lot of sense. And a lot about where he lived, likewise. But then again, maybe that's why I found the place so darned interestin'. They call Los Angeles the "City Of Angels." I didn't find it to be that, exactly. But I'll allow there are some nice folks there. 'Course I can't say I've seen London, and I ain't never been to France. And I ain't never seen no queen in her damned undies, so the feller says. But I'll tell you what - after seeing Los Angeles, and this here story I'm about to unfold, well, I guess I seen somethin' every bit as stupefyin' as you'd see in any of them other places. And in English, too. So I can die with a smile on my face, without feelin' like the good Lord gypped me. Now this here story I'm about to unfold took place back in the early '90s - just about the time of our conflict with Sad'm and the I-raqis. I only mention it because sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause, what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about the Dude here. Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's the Dude, in Los Angeles. And even if he's a lazy man - and the Dude was most certainly that. Quite possibly the laziest in Los Angeles County, which would place him high in the runnin' for laziest worldwide. But sometimes there's a man, sometimes, there's a man. Aw. I lost my train of thought here. But... aw, hell. I've done introduced him enough."

a real man .... is a fish

Not only himself - but those around him.

Protect himself? How about protecting those he loves?

A "real man" can find a way to avoid violence. Fighting is a response to fear. That's hardly "manly".

No, it's not. A real man is someone with integrity, conviction, honesty, honor, an open mind, and who is compassionate and gentle with others, and who happens to be male.
