How to quit first job?

I was hired at a fast food place but I just got a job offer from a place that's a lot closer to my home. I've only been working for four days and I feel bad about quitting because the manager was really nice and gave me a job even though I had no experience. I was planning on texting her something along the lines of, "I won't be able to work at fast food place because I've received and accepted a job offer from a place closer to home. Thank your for the opportunity." Should I write something else? Will I be forced to work the remainder of my shifts? I have another shift tomorrow.

Is it better to quit in person at the beginning/end of my shift?

If you can give them some notice do so. Text your manager / boss, give them your notice that you're leaving, when you plan on leaveing and you're not coming back. With entry level jobs you don't have to work them, you can get some one to cover the shifts for you.
As for your shifts, that depends. If you have a contract read it again. Some places do make you work your last weeks / days notice (my work place does it's in my contract) until you have to leave, or you won't get a reference letter.

It is not nice to give such short notice to your employer. You should plan to work your shift at least for tomorrow. It may be difficult for your manager to replace you on such short notice. You've wasted their time and money training you.

Never quit via text.  Always speak to your manager directly and follow up with something in writing.  Technically there is no reason to explain yourself.  If you want to, you thank them and say this obviously wasn't the plan but you have to do what is right.  Your manager will be annoyed but at the same time it's nothing new in the fast food industry.
