There are plenty of others, but none that allow the level of trolling that yahoo did.
Quora is NOT similar to YA. Most users use their real names, for one thing, and the site is well-moderated. Trolls are not welcome.
The level of general intelligence there is much higher, and the site structured differently.
Alot of people saying Quora, which is ok but seems like their members expect you to write a thesis paper just to answer a simple question. Answers.com is similar to Yahoo answers but the interface is different and its overall not as good. Its a shame. I'm going to miss Yahoo answers.
No, not of the same format type.
Reddit... but Reddit is weird and really strict.
Your ability to both comment and ask are based on how long you've been a member and it's weird because one can't really build up a rhythm if they're already limited... even if they're willing to provide the input at a greater and/or even more useful rate than other more casual users.
There are a number of other Q&A sites out there. A quick search on question and answer websites provides a number of options.
there are many
the big difference is confirmed registration and invitation to many
the anonymous feature allows for opening thinking and blunt comments but that leads TO STUPID HORDES as well
but let me tell you
these forums and comments are not saving the world.
Yahoo claims that they just want to end it, as they have other Yahoo portals in the past. But, more likely, the flood of inane/childish/trollish questions and answers were costing them a fortune in server space. This means that members will probably jump to other sites with equally inane Q&A, such as Quora.com Answers.com, etc. A relatively new such site, AskQit.com, has very few members, and only intelligent questions. I'm sure both will change, soon enough.
Quora
Ask.com
Answers.com
4chan if you want to ask silly questions and get silly/fun answers.

The Answerbank is a similar Q&A site.
