A ton of empathy is geared toward suicide victims and people who OD?
What about the people who are still kicking who choose not to do that? I feel like they deserve more recognition. Like people who work at McDonald's and get treated like crap but still insist on providing good customer service?

They should definitely get recognition. I've been over-tipping at every opportunity I can.
No tipping policies suck.
I happen to agree with you one thousand percent. So here's to all the fighters that keep pushing every single day of their lives. You're the backbone of society.
True but death is so permanent and drastic that people react to it more than real life suffering.
