Is God pure good?

Right, that's why it supposedly made an eternal torture pit...

If you redefine "good" such that anything that God does is good, then it's easy to answer "yes".  But is such a redefinition justified?

Believers will say that humans can't be expected to understand how seemingly bad things can be good -- but God understands.

But, those same believers will claim that they can understand the Bible.  That's only because they have a need to believe that.  They are deluding themselves.  They are aware that other people interpret the Bible differently than they do.

God appears to be what ever each individual person wants him to be. That is why there are so many forms of christianity. There wouldn't be so many if people really do have a "personal relationship with him". That shows me this relationship is only in their minds.

God is perfection. Goodness is something resembling God's perfection, though nothing we encounter on Earth is ever truly perfect.

Well, let me ask you this: when you make art of some king, such as a painting or sculpture, it's good by your standards, right? When Jehovah created all things, we are good, by his standards. When we commit what is bad, it is because we did something that went against the rules and laws he put in place as reality.

Define "pure good."  There is nothing evil about him, if that's what you're asking.
