Where do a lot of people in the United States typically travel for vacation around Easter ?

I guess you're not from the US. We travel on holidays because work and schools are usually closed. Hence we have the time to visit relatives that ate distant.

Don't people in your country do the same?

Because schools are out for spring break and it is not a big family holiday like Thanksgiving and Christmas used to be before Covid-19 where people would visit with family or travel to family only. Instead they take trips like in the summer. All that changed when Covid-19 hit and people ended having relationships with other people who lived outside their homes. Now a days they just see people on Zoom or those that live inside their homes. 

Most people just visit relatives and may 'vacation' nearby, especially if their relatives live in an interesting area of the country or near an attraction of some kind.
