Should I trust an autographed CD on Ebay?

Seether are my favorite band and I’d like to have a CD signed by the band. I found one on EBay for 40 bucks. Can I trust it? The guy claims to have had it signed in person. What do you think?

I would not trust it.

If you believe it's real, it's real. There's no way to prove it one way or the other.

I wouldn’t trust it without documentation (called provenance).
Then again I’m not sure Seether carries enough weight in the industry to have spawned a big market for forgeries. So you may be just fine.You could consider doing some quick online searches of examples of the signatures and compare. You may get enough to satisfy yourself and warrant $40.
