And increasing taxes doesn't necessarily result in an equivalent increase in revenues.  The Laffer Curves illustrate that truism. 

Another economic truth is that for every dollar taken from the economy in taxes, economic growth is reduced by over two dollars.  After all, a dollar taken in taxes experiences no multiplier effect.  In fact, that dollar is taken in taxes twice or more.  You need to consider all the people who will see that increased tax on that dollar.  Taxes are paid by: the employer, the employee, the businesses the employee uses, their suppliers, etc.  It's only long chain of increased taxes.

Biden's tax increase will have as desultory an effect on the economy as the increases in the cost of energy his decisions have already had.
