Why is Microsoft so bad at everything it tries to do? useless?

You're absolutely right!  I mean to create not only the world's best selling Operating System, but to then support it and update it regularly for years! AND then to have a full office suite of programs MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access, and support them and update them regularly, too!  How horrible!!  [/sarcasm] 

Microsoft errors , glitches, fails and bugs are normal - like a thorn in the foot. Bill Gates is a thief. A thief can never originate. Steve Jobs was the real deal, the visionary , the great thinker. He changed the world, not Evil Bill Gates .

You're wrong.  They were pretty good at copying features from competitors -- to the point that they outcompeted some of them.
You're not using Lotus 1-2-3 now, are you?
I worked in a Wordperfect office.  They switched to Microsoft Word eventually.
