Should Puerto Rico be recognized as the 51st state of the United States?

I am for it, if they are.  We have a major imbalance in our Senate that makes our country too dysfunctional and too much minority rule.  The Senate makes us almost like a plantation...with the bosses telling the great  majority how its gonna be.  The USA Senate now has a minority that has gotten 79 million less votes in their state bossing the majority around.

It's not a matter of recognizing it. Puerto Ricans haven't voted for it.

Even though in every plebiscite they've taken in Puerto Rico on the issue has not succeeded?

It's not like we can force them to be a state if they don't want to be one.

Only if the agree to doing without all of the subsidies and tax breaks they currently get. 

Hell no. Waste of money is what that island is. They don't even generate enough profits from taxes to cover their *** after a hurricane hits them. Puerto Rico is a horrible investment.

USA should sell it back to Spain. Let the Spaniards deal with the problems in Puerto Rico. 

No it should not. Of course, Democrats will no doubt try to make Puerto Rico and Washington DC states just so they can get more senators and representatives. They rather rig elections that way rather than play fair.

No.. why not keep their own identity and not be drawn into the mess that is America right now!

no , cant afford to have it , after all how many unemployed are there in that country !!!  they keep voting not to join the usa anyway .
