What happened to the dinosaurs?

A lot of them died off and the rest evolved into birds.

Being cold-blooded reptiles, they died out when the climate where they lived became colder. Which allowed the primitive warm-blooded mammals that already existed, to gradually become the dominant form of animal life.

Good Question Boris! We do know that at one time dinosaurs did roam the planet.
We read in Genesis chapter one verses 1 and 2 that "In the beginning...." But it seems that this beginning was billions of years ago.
Next we read that "The earth was without form and void..." (A shapeless mass and a dead planet)
But note here that the word "was" in the original writings this word actually reads "became" therefore it strongly suggests that the earth was at one time as we know it today but some thing had happened to render it a shapeless mass and a dead planet.
This suggests that it may have been at this time that the dinosaurs became wiped out. It also seems that the account of creation as we have it is when the Lord actually renewed the planet and at this time created man.
I would consider this to be a strong possibility.

Most of them went extinct ages ago.

Extinction for the most part. There are living examples of their past existence such as crocodiles.

As I see one I would tell you.

They were killed by the aftereffects of an impact by the 6-mile-wide asteroid that created Chicxulub crater.
