Center = ((2 - 6)/2, (-1 + 5)/2) = (-2, 2)Diameter = √[(2 + 6)² + (-1 - 5)²] = 10
Radius = 10/2 = 5
Equation of the circle: (x + 2)² + (y - 2)² = 5²
OR: x² + y² + 4x - 4y - 17 = 0

I do not know why this method is not more widely used. Given coordinates of the endpoints of any diameter, it is not necessary to derive the center or the radius.
(x - 2)(x + 6) + (y + 1)(y - 5) = 0
Expand and group that, and you have the equation in general form.
x² + y² + 4x - 4y - 17 = 0
(x - 2)(x + 6) + (y + 1)(y - 5) = 0
