Do you think it would be possible to launch a class action suit against Microsoft, I've been looking online and these automatic updates ?

which you can't refuse are messing with a lot of peoples devices I for one.
I'm getting updates for my graphic card which stop it from working, harder to awake from sleep and makes it overheat, when I get updates from AMD they work fine, until an update in two days.
I have managed to stop autoupdates in services, but I really want windows updates and alike.

I don't know why they believe it's appropriate to update AMD software, when I don't believe they would think it appropriate for AMD to update Windows.

@bill m: are you stupid or can't read, you don't have a choice to not update.

When are you going to learn to NEVER do Driver Updates.  Windows 10 (latest version) is making Driver Updates OPTIONAL.  You only update a Driver when that device is having problems.
If it is not broken, don't fix it.
And NO you can't launch a class action.
Just upgrade to the Latest Version of Windows 10   Which is 20H2 Build Number 19042.804

It WOULD be possible ... if you could find an adequate number of idiots that are willing to spend billions of dollars to START their legal action, but I'm afraid you're on to a loser in doing so.

Dump MS and switch to Linux.

It would be better if you choose to use other software or use a computer device from Apple

There is more than one CPU.   It has to correct itself on AMD.   I had that problem.  The machine finally got that difference in coding figured out and my machine works fine.Class action suit will not happen EVER.  WINDOWS 10 UPDATES while in sleep mode overnight.  Mostly minor stuff...to tweak it. It MAY not recognize certain drivers any more because they are too old for the updated Windows.  Stuff that worked on XP like camera's or printers may not have the new configuration to work with Windows 10.  You got to get a new printer or web camera.

Microsoft tries to force critical
updates... graphics cards shouldn't be uncluded as critical...

Yes it is possible, though highly unlikely, to file a class action suit. You would either need a lot of money, or convince a lawyer that they could get a lot of money. One major obstacle is the "service agreement" that must be agreed to. (I'd like to see those sued to be invalid) It probably states (since like most people, I didn't read it) that you agree to allow auto updates.

The first thing I did when I bought a new computer, was to change the date to 20+ years in the future and pause updates. Microsoft hasn't updated my computer since I bought it. I also set up my network as metered and  turn off updates on metered connections.

Calling people stupid, even if part of their answer is... questionable, rarely helps.

For the simple fact you are not forced to use windows anymore not really. Just my opinion though.

For a class-action lawsuit, you would have to prove there's a large group of other people affected by the same issue, that Microsoft is at fault, and that some sort of "damage" has occurred. You generally should NOT want to be part of a class-action lawsuit, as it will severely reduce the amount of money you can collect.
