Acute diverticulitis should be on clear liquids, then full liquids as symptoms improve. Advance diet after that.
BTW, in my 9 years in a GI practice, I watched hundreds of colonoscopies. Most folks have some diverticula, not everyone get them infected.
As a side note, I never once saw a diverticulum containing a seed or nut. I believe it is an old wives tale to blame that on an episode.
no , they should be served separately .
As long as there's no fennel seed, or large herb leaves in it. Also, the acidity of the sauce could possibly upset your intestines, so it just depends on how sensitive or how bad the diverticulitis is.
Divertidulosis or diverticulitis? I have diverticulosis, I had diverticulitis to the extent that I had to get 8 inches of my colon removed. I was eating brownies with nuts in them while I was still in the hospital. That was 11 years ago, and I eat whatever I want.
If you have diverticulitis, I suppose you can eat lasagna, but if it's made with Italian sausage, it could have seeds in it, which should be avoided. I'd make a point of discussion your diet with a gastroenterologist.
Anything with moderation. Except nuts and seeds
This is a question for your doctor, not a bunch of strangers on the internet.
If you have diverticulitis, you have to experiment to find out what works for you. If you are having symptoms, I would not eat lasagna, because it contains cheese, a milk product. Milk products often can irritate diverticulitis. You may be able to eat it when you are not having symptoms.
But then, if you are having symptoms, you should take only clear liquids until the symptoms go away.
Yes, I have never had a problem
You can, but i don't think the diverticulitis will taste very good. You might want to have your lasagna with tomato sauce instead.
Better try with a fork and knife :o)
It is better with parmesan cheese.
