Around 40 men inspired by God

About 40 men wrote, or more accurately, penned, the God- inspired scriptures. The contents of these scriptures came from God.  2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Israelites, or Jews, were given the "sacred pronouncements of God." Romans 3:2 Jesus stated that "salvation originates from (or, "is of", King James)  the Jews." John 4:22

"He has not done so with any other nation". Psalm 147:19,20

In about 367 AD, St. Athanasius came up with a list of 73 books for the Bible that he believed to be divinely inspired.  This list was finally approved by Pope Damasus I in 382 AD, and was formally approved by the Church Council of Rome in that same year.

Later Councils at Hippo (393 AD) and Carthage (397 AD) ratified this list of 73 books.  In 405 AD, Pope Innocent I wrote a letter to the Bishop of Toulouse reaffirming this canon of 73 books.

In 419 AD, the Council of Carthage reaffirmed this list, which Pope Boniface agreed to.  The Council of Trent, in 1546, in response to the Reformation removing 7 books from the canon (canon is a Greek word meaning “standard”), reaffirmed the original St. Athanasius list of 73 books.

How come the King James Bible only has 66 books?  Well, Martin Luther didn’t like 7 books of the Old Testament that disagreed with his personal view of theology, so he threw them out of his bible in the 16th Century.

What is strange is that Luther eventually accepted all 27 books of the New Testament that the Catholic Pope Damasus I had approved of in 382 AD.

Why trust the Catholic Church which he called “the whore of Babylon” to come up with an accurate New Testament list?  Can you imagine the outrage by non-Catholics today if the Pope started throwing books out of the Bible?  But strangely, Luther gets a pass on doing that exact same thing.

The Bible is inspired of God. But some may think, The Bible was written by men, so how can it be from God? The Bible answers: Men spoke from God as they were moved or, guided by holy spirit.

This is similar to a businessman telling his secretary to write a letter. Who is the author of the letter? It is the businessman, not the secretary.

In the same way, the Author of the Bible is God, not the men he used to write it. God guided them to write his thoughts. The Bible really is the word of God.

There are many different writers in numerous times and places. However, the actual book was compiled by the bishops of the Catholic Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in the 4'th Century. Which is how we know that these 73 texts are the inspired Word of God.

God wrote the Bible.  The Bible is the Word of God, and the King James Bible is 100% perfect.  Death leads to immediate heaven or hell, and it is too late to be saved, after death.  To be in heaven and not hell, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God and who died on the cross and shed His blood to pay for all of our sins in full, and who was buried, and who resurrected from the dead.  The only way to avoid hell is by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, without adding any of your own works.  See Romans 4:5, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, and John 3:16.
