Leviticus 19:18
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.
Christians keep forgetting that Jesus was being asked which is the greatest EXISTING commandment.
Also, Hillel the Elder was asked a similar question many years BEFORE Jesus and he responded with a version of the Golden Rule.
Matthew chapter 7 verse 12. Is one rendition of do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Matthew 7:12 “All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must do to them. This, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean.”
Mark 12:31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Luke 6:27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
James 2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.
I could keep going if you want.
The principle known as the Golden Rule – Do unto others what you would have them do unto you – is often thought of as the apex of Jesus’ moral teachings and of being unique to Christianity.
However, the Buddha made this same principle one of the cornerstones of his ethics too.
FWIW, Buddha lived 500 years before Yah'shua (if he ever existed).
This has been documented:
There are stories that the "3 Wise Men" were actually Buddhist priests who were searching for the reincarnation of Buddha (the Dali Lama). Yah'shua met their qualifications.
Following that lead, many people believe that Jesus spent his "lost years" (13-30) in India, studied Buddhism and became a monk there before heading back home.
Also, he didn't die on the cross but put himself into a coma. When he left he went back to India, had several kids with Mary M. and died in his 80s.
There is at least 1 book in India that states this as factual.
Who's the IDIOT who gave me a Thumb's Down for telling the truth? Probably one of those Cancel Culture MORONS.
Mathew 7:12; Luke 10:27; love for humankind will help us all treat others as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did while on earth even surrendering his life for us, John 10:14 - 18.
Matthew 22:39 - "Love your neighbour as yourself" - it means the same thing as Matthew 7:12, Mark 12:31. from Leviticus 19:18 in the Old Testament
Matthew 7:12
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
Matthew 7:12
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
