What is faith to you?

A character flaw wherein someone believes in something with no reason to do so.

Belief and trust.

In science, an hypothesis is the equivalent of faith. We begin with limited evidence and then we test it for viability. Depending upon how it fares, our faith either grows stronger or weaker. 


Since God is supernatural Spirit, humans cannot understand him. Logic and reason wont work with him. So we must have faith in his word the Holy Bible if we are ever to know him. 


Hebrews 11:1 — Faith is the confidence that what we believe is true; it gives us assurance about things we cannot yet see.



Romans 8:24-25 KJV — For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.



Faith then holds us over until we become of full assurance regarding Gods word.


The natural world says seeing is believing. God says believing is seeing.



John 20:29 KJV — Jesus saith unto Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not yet seen, and yet have still believed.


Hebrews 11:6 KJV — For without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Strong faith is built on knowledge. Faith follows the thing heard, stated Paul.
Romans 10:17

 What did he mean by that? He meant that by feeding on God’s Word, we build our faith and confidence in God, and his promises.

Faith follows the thing heard. A person must first find out what the Bible says, and he will strengthen his conviction if he examines it carefully so as to be convinced of its reliability.

Faith is based on concrete evidence. The visible creative works testify to the existence of an invisible Creator.

Furthermore, the reliability of God’s Word and the accurate fulfillment of its prophecies instill confidence in the realization of all of His promises.

 Thus, in these many ways, faith follows the thing heard. Ro 10:17

So faith follows the thing heard. In turn the thing heard is through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:14-17

 It follows, then, that if we want more faith, we must hear and take in knowledge of the Scriptures.

Faith isnt subjective. It means believing something despite a lack of evidence. It is the same thing for everybody

I have faith in many things, god just doesn't happen to be one of them. Faith is NOT exclusive to theism.

Mostly a willingness to find things out for ourselves.

Hebrews 11:1 says: “Faith is the assured expectation of what is hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities that are not seen.”

Faith as it pertains to Salvation is not a maybe so thing, but total confidence That Jesus Christ can and will do what He promised and Save to the uttermost.
