Elevator makes noise. Good reason to move?

So i live in my own apartment that my parents bought for me. The problem is that although the apartment is very nice I don’t really like the area and I really wanted to live in a different area we were originally looking into. My parents found this one and especially my dad god overly enthusiastic and just took charge completely. My apartment is right next to an elevator shaft that makes a lot of noise. So that makes me think I have a perfectly valid reason to move to the place I wanted to live in the first place? What do you think? Or is it ways to fix the noise that would complicate that?

You can break the lease but not without financial penalty.

I would bet a fair amount of cash that you will get used to the noise and after a week or two you won't hear it. I live close to a rail track and they thunder past in the early hours. It worried me at first but I don't hear them now.

Sure but it would not get you out of the lease without paying. You would have to wait until your lease is going to expire and give proper notice to vacates. If that is a good enough reason for your parents is a question only they can answer.

Elevators are always safe.  Even if one were to have the hoisting cable break, it would just drift down to the floor.  It is not like you see in the movies where one goes crashing down.  My brother in law used to work on them, so he informed me of ths.
