How to remove burgundy hair color without bleach?

I dyed my hair burgundy without bleach two years ago and now I want to dye it light brown. I tried color oops and it didn’t do anything. Can I just dye brown over it and use the red canceling packets?

You can try dying it ash brown, but if you want to go blond after that you would have to bleach it a few times. As for now, you can try applying a lot of high lift blond dyes, but they can turn your hair brassy. If that happens use a hair toner.
