How much would it cost to pay a structural engineer to determine the load capacity of my bedroom floor?

I wanna get a 1,250 lb recording booth to place in the bedroom of my Brooklyn apartment. I live on the first floor but there is a basement below me. I figured I better be safe and get a professional opinion on it.

I'd say $200-$400.You'll need to read your lease or by-laws to see if this is even allowed especially if you intend to use it for business.

Call a few companies up and ask. It is just an inspection - nothing too complicated. I would expect under $200.
