Chemistry naming compounds.?

Draw the compound 5-methylcyclopentadiene.

I know what it looks like, but I am confused how to get that structure. Specifically, what does the "di" part mean in the middle of the name, and how do you know where the double bonds go??

• "-cyclopenta-": The parent chain is a ring of 5 carbon atoms.

• "-diene": The molecule has two C=C double bonds. In the 5-membered ring, the two C=C double bonds must be numbered as 1 and 3 without ambiguity.  Therefore, it is not necessary to number the two C=C double bonds.

• "5-methyl-": A methyl group is attached to the 5-membered ring at position 5.
