i seem to have a broken laptop hinge can that be something be replaced fixed and what the cost estimate. I been leaving laptop lid open?

maybe.  one hinge likely has the screen wiring inside it -- that one can be replaced if parts are available.  bit of a techie problem.  the other hinge usually isn't worth replacing.  might be worth paying the diagnostic fee to a repair place.  -- grampa
